She spews the usual "this will prevent people without an ID from voting" bilge that we've come to expect from the various quarters of left-wing ratholes. In so doing, she makes the following statement: "The ruling was rendered only more offensive by its flippant dismissal of the burden that obtaining a photo ID places on people who are young, poor, minority, elderly or some combination of these (read: Democrats)."

We're not sure how someone can be a combination of "young" and "elderly" at the same time, but let's leave that aside for now.

Let's just focus on the "young" part. Ms. Vanden Heuvel is apparently under the impression that there are young Democratic voters who face a "burden" when getting a photo ID.

Assuming that these "young" voters are eligible to vote, then that means that they are 18 years of age or older. We're pretty sure that 18 is old enough to drive in all 50 states. We're also fairly certain that most young people get their driver's licenses as soon as possible after becoming old enough to drive in their states. So... what exactly is the problem here? Young people, almost universally, will have a photo ID if they want to drive somewhere.

And how are these "young" people all Democrats? Has she never heard of young Republicans? There's actually a group with that name, by the way.

We honestly believe that these liberal blowhards, like Ms. Vanden Heuvel, are so obsessed with challenging common-sense voter ID laws that they haven't even thought through their arguments.
