Worst Possible News: 'Game Of Thrones' Author Doesn't Like Republicans August 14, 2012

We love the Game Of Thrones series (technically called A Song Of Fire And Ice), in both print and televised format.

And therefore it was incredibly depressing to learn that the author of the series, one George R.R. Martin, is no fan of Republicans.

George R.R. Martin, whose novels were adapted for the HBO series "Game of Thrones," has penned an angry blog post about what he sees as "ongoing attempts at voter suppression in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, Iowa, and other states where Republicans and their Teabagger allies control key seats of power."

"It is one thing to attempt to win elections," he writes. "But trying to do so by denying the most basic and important right of any American citizen to hundreds and thousands of people, on entirely spurious grounds... that goes beyond reprehensible. That is despicable."

This just proves that one can be a great author who produces high-quality entertainment and still be a nimwit.
