Real Winner Of An Obama Ad Accuses Romney Of Killing A Woman August 7, 2012
When Obama gets this desperate, then that tells us that his internal polling (which probably doesn't oversample Dems by 19%) is showing that he's in trouble.
His latest ad tells the story of a steelworker who lost his job, and because of that he lost his insurance, and because of that he lost his wife.
Or something like that.
It's a long trip just to reach this conclusion: Mitt Romney killed a woman.
And it's patently absurd.
And yes, we're calling it his ad, even though it is run by a PAC. We think Obama is doing that just to keep the accusation at arm's length.
Anyway, Noah Rothman thinks the ad will backfire.
We agree. Even milquetoast Republicans like Joe Scarborough will lash out against this ad, and many Democrats will as well.
But, surprisingly, for all of its rhetoric, nothing in this ad will lead to Mitt Romney being charged with negligent homicide or depraved indifference to human life.
There's a reason for that.
Crap happens.
