Awesome: Most Virginia Abortion Clinics May Have To Close Under New Regulations July 17, 2012
Now this is what democracy looks like!
Virginians were so disgusted with President Obama that in 2009 they elected a very conservative government, including Governor Bob McDonnell and Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli.
Accordingly, the General Assembly passed a law requiring abortion clinics to meet certain medical standards. We won't try to sugar coat it: the law was passed specifically to force those clinics to close down. To deny that would be intellectually dishonest.
But who cares? It looks like the law is going to succeed. That is, it will force abortion clinics to close down.
The Virginia Board of Health tried to subvert the legislation by granting exceptions to abortion clinics, but Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli said "no way."
And now the whole matter goes before the governor, who is a pro-life Republican.
So it looks like it's going to stand.
This is excellent news for those unborn children who will have a life because abortion was made that much more inconvenient in Virginia.
