Swing State Pollster: Romney Up In FL, Down In OH, Tied In VA And CO July 16, 2012
This one gives us some pause.
A swing state polling outfit (PurplePoll) has conducted recent polls in 4 swing states.
And in all 4 of those states the results are just too close.
Romney is up by 3 in Florida (48-45). We'd like to see that margin increase for some comfort level.
Romney is down by 3 in Ohio (45-48). That's where some people think that the anti-Bain ads are having an impact. We hope that's not the case, but the numbers are what they are.
In Colorado and Virginia, the candidates are tied, with Obama leading in both cases within the margin of error.
As mentioned previously, we're not experienced in managing political campaigns. And we have no idea what Romney's internal polling is telling him. But those numbers, in all 4 states, simply look too close for comfort.
We'd like to see a more aggressive campaign strategy that puts Romney ahead in all 4 states, outside of the margin of error.
Given the state of the economy, and Obama's desperation efforts demonstrated by his campaign, we think that this is doable.
And such a strategy will give us a lot more comfort going into November.
