Former NAACP Leader: Romney Wanted To Say He 'Stood Up To The Negroes' July 12, 2012
There's so much stupidity going around the left-wing blogosphere about Romney's speech to the NAACP yesterday that it's really hard to know where to begin.
So let's begin with Julian Bond, former head of the NAACP.
He tells The Huffington Post that Romney spoke to the NAACP "to bait us."
In other words, Romney really wanted those boos that he got after promising to eliminate ObamaCare.
But it gets much better.
"He wanted to be able to go to some of the independents he needs to get elected and tell them, 'See? I stood up to the Negroes,'" Bond said.
And there you have it. It's all about "the Negroes". This according to someone who is recognized by millions to be a civil rights leader.
It seems like the only people obsessed with race these days are famous liberals.
Also: We're not convinced that independents are swayed because someone stood up to "the Negroes". Perhaps Mr. Bond will be forthcoming with some evidence to support that claim.
Not holding our breath.
