Dems Pushing Obama For Strategy #472: Go Back To Calling Romney A Flip-Flopper June 15, 2012

And why not? Nothing else has worked.

Democratic lawmakers like the flip-flopper charge. After all, Romney is more known as the Etch A Sketch candidate than a Tea Party ideologue.

"There are a number of messages out there. That message did resonate and did work and I expect he'll go back to that message, it's a very effective message," said Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.).

Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.) said the flip-flopper label "does affect his credibility on significant issues, that he's been on both sides of issues," in reference to Romney.

The really good news is that this advice comes to Obama from Senate Democrats, who just lost a bunch of seats in 2010 and are likely to lose a bunch more in November.

And they're too irresonsible to pass a budget.

So we definitely encourage President Obama to take their advice, and opt for yet another campaign strategy which, at face value, will almost certainly fail.

Because Obama can't paint Romney as a right-wing extremist and a flip-flopper at the same time.

If he tries that, then Obama looks like a flip-flopper.
