Pigs Fly: Ed Schultz Defends Rush Limbaugh Against 'Media Matters' June 13, 2012
Strange bedfellows alert.
Ed Schultz, who once called, and then un-called, Laura Ingraham a "slut", took Media Matters troll David Brock to task for his attacks on Rush Limbaugh.
Media Matters, the organization which laughably operates on the premise that there are too many conservative voices in the media, was on the front line in the war against Rush after his own "slut"/"not a slut" controversy directed against Sandra Fluke.
The objective of that war was to get companies to stop advertising during Rush's popular radio show.
That's where Schultz took issue with the media watchpoodle group. "If we start attacking advertisers because of what somebody said — it's the wrong thing to do," he said at the Talkers New Media Seminar on June 7.
"I need you to know what's happening," Schultz said he told Brock, recounting his conversation. "'This is what's happening. There's a lot of people getting hurt. This is going to too far. It's my opinion, you can take it for what it's worth.'"
That's not exactly a scathing denunciation of Media Matters, but we'll take it.
