Apparently "Barry" (their name for him, not ours) during his high school and college years was known for liking Mary-Jane. A lot.

Someone at BuzzFeed got his grimy paws on an early copy of an upcoming bio of the Failure-In-Chief.

And apparently it was "one toke over the line" after "one toke over the line" when Barry was a young'un.

For example: When he attended Punahou High School in Hawaii, he hung out with a group of boys who called themselves "The Choom Gang".

The book makes the reference clear: "Choom is a verb, meaning 'to smoke marijuana'".

Thanks, but we probably could have figured that one out on our own.

And it just doesn't get any better than this:

Barry would also love the idea of chooming in a car with the windows rolled up. That way, when the actual smoking was done, he and his friends would simply revel in the sweet aroma of that second-hand smoke.

Then we have this nugget of history:

We're not sure which Marvel comics were at Mark's house, but we're fairly certain that Captain America was not among them. That would have been too much of a jingoistic influence for Barry during his formative years.

And why are we not surprised to learn that playing Nerf basketball goes hand-in-hand with smoking joints?

Well, what more can we say? It looks like the excessive amount of THC that Barry got into his system as a youth may be a possible explanation for his irresponsible governance today.

And it's a pretty reasonable explanation, actually.
