Good News For Wisconsin Dems: Walker Trails By 3; Bad News: AMONG PUBLIC UNION HOUSEHOLDS May 24, 2012
|
Well this is pretty funny.
A "We Ask America" poll posted today shows Gov. Scott Walker with a comfortable 12 point lead over his Democratic rival, Tom Barrett.
But there is an internal element to this poll that is quite the eye-opener.
The two are pretty much dead even among people who live in public union households.
And, in case you don't remember, Gov. Walker is alleged (by Democrats, of course) to have declared war on public unions by limiting their collective bargaining rights.
Apparently it's a war that almost half of public union households are happy to lose.
The breakdown is 50/47 with Barrett holding the 3-point advantage.
And factoring in the margin of error, it's a tie.
Lesson learned: Gov. Walker isn't the boogeyman that Wisconsin Dems have made him out to be, even among those whom they say he victimized.
Along these lines, be sure to check out how the Morning Joe gang discussed the political ramifications of the Wisconsin recall this morning.
And drink a toast to Gov. Scott Walker. It's going to be a great 8 years for cheeseheads.
