Ms. Jacobson writes: "Yesterday I attended a meeting of pro-choice colleagues working to ensure women throughout this country get safe, compassionate abortion care."

Let's bury the lede for a moment and stop right there.

There is nothing "compassionate", from the perspective of a human fetus, about abortion.

Anyway, one of those non-compassionate colleagues complained to Ms. Jacobson about missing a flight because she was wearing a pro-choice T-shirt.

Well there's a little more to the story than that.

The T-shirt read, and we're quoting here: "If I wanted the government in my womb, I'd fuck a Senator".

We hate to break the basic facts of life to Ms. Jacobson and her non-compassionate colleague, but having sex with a Senator does not get "the government" in one's womb.

Anyway, the good folks over at American Airlines asked the non-compassionate colleague to change her shirt before taking a connecting flight. The conversation about this subject apparently lasted so long she missed her flight anyway.

The obvious point: American Airlines wasn't exercising any pro-life position by asking this woman to change her shirt. The company almost certainly has a policy against people wearing clothing with offensive language written on it.

So even though pro-choicers are in the minority these days, there's no reason for the non-compassionate colleague to cry "martyr" here.

American Airlines was just promoting common decency.
