They do this because they're awesome.

In case you've been asleep, this is a pretty important issue to Catholics. Obama has decreed, as per his almost-certainly unconstitional healthcare law, that employers must provide contraception coverage. This includes Catholic employers.

But Catholics, as part of their religious beliefs, oppose contraception.

But it gets better. Some of the contraception drugs that are required to be provided by employers are abortion-inducing drugs.

In other words, Obama wants Catholics to not only provide preventative birth control, but also abortive birth control.

Catholics consider abortion to be murder.

So not only is ObamaCare unconstitutional based on the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution, it also runs afoul of freedom of religion as guaranteed in the First Amendment.

But liberals only cry "First Amendment" when someone wants to pray in front of a legislature, or post the 10 Commandments in a classroom.

So here we have Catholics ("Catlicks" if you live in New York City) filing a lawsuit to do what they should have the freedom to do in this country: Practice their religion as they see fit.
