More Good News For Scott Walker: Looks Like His Opponent Is A Crony Capitalist May 18, 2012
Lots of good news for Governor Walker lately.
He's ahead in the polls.
He's raised a lot of money.
And now it looks like his opponent awarded illegal, no-bid contracts to a campaign donor.
The complaint comes from a couple of recycling companies, who allege that Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett (that's the poor sap who has to run against Gov. Walker in the recall) has extended contracts to a third recycling company "in secret and without public bid."
Political payback, folks. That's what we're talking about here.
Not: Which company can provide the best service at an affordable price?
But: Which company provided me with support for my political candidacy?
From the link:
Republican Party of Wisconsin Communications Director Ben Sparks said in a statement that the arrangement "reeks of pay-to-play politics."
"Tom Barrett giving away lucrative no-bid contracts to his campaign donors, all while increasing wasteful government spending by $300 million, simply highlights his gross mismanagement of the City of Milwaukee," Sparks said.
Looks like it's going to be a great 8 years for Scott Walker in that governor's mansion.
