Japanese Comedian Compares Gay Marriage To Bestiality May 18, 2012
You may not have heard of Beat Takeshi.
Video game geeks know about him, as he is a video game creator.
He's also a comedian.
And apparently he doesn't like gay marriage.
Here's what he said when he saw people celebrating Obama's support of gay marriage: "Obama supports gay marriage. You would support a marriage to an animal eventually, then."
Sounds like something Rick Santorum might say:
"In every society, the definition of marriage has not ever to my knowledge included homosexuality. That's not to pick on homosexuality. It's not, you know, man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be. It is one thing."
So we're pretty sure that Beat Takeshi is not welcome at The Grove any more.
And Tokyo, we have a problem: Disneyland over there allows same-sex marriages at Disney hotels, but the government doesn't recognize same-sex marriages.
In other words: the Japanese government has more sense than the legislatures of several American states.
But getting back to Takeshi: We don't see any of his video games winning a GLAAD award any time soon.
It is, however, nice to see some prominent figure, even one from another country, not afraid to speak out against gay marriage.
Well done, Takeshi-san.
