They Shoot Deficit Hawks, Don't They? May 17, 2012

If you are one of the 6 (possibly 7) people left on the planet who thinks that Obama actually cares about the deficit, please disabuse yourself of that notion immediately.

According to The Hill, Obama and Boehner had a contentious meeting about the looming deficit ceiling battle.

Oh, the controversy wasn't about how to reduce the deficit.

Obama just wants an increase in the debt ceiling. With nary a care about our exploding national debt.

Boehner asked Obama if he was proposing that Congress increase the debt limit without corresponding spending cuts, according to a readout of the meeting from the Speaker's office. The president replied, "Yes."

And with that one word ("Yes"), Obama says "No" to fiscal sanity.

Because he wouldn't want to do anything responsible, would he?

Obama has no plan to reduce the deficit. He has a budget that was rejected 99-0 by the Senate. And he can't even inspire the members of his own political party who control that same Senate to produce a budget. For the past 1100 days.

And yet he wants us to believe that his leadership skills have earned him a shot at the Presidency for 4 more years.

No thanks.
