Obama's Alternative Energy Vision: First Algae, Then Spinach, And Now Chicken Poop April 30, 2012

Too bad that Obama isn't a Republican. Or Stephen Colbert would love to make fun of proposals like this.

And, yes. We're serious.

At an extremely imporant meeting headed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rurual Development Rurual Utilities Service Administrator that you didn't even know existed, the whole idea of using chicken poop as a green energy source came up.

"Burning chicken litter and manure to create electricity was a leading topic of discussion during the roundtable... an idea that has been proposed by poultry companies in Maryland in the past, and been passed on in this state because of environmental concerns."

Confession: We didn't even know that poop was flammable. Well, in our younger days, when we used to put it in a paper bag and light it on fire outside a mean guy's doorstep... Never mind.

This proposal also adds an addendum to Obama's new campaign slogan: "Forward, with chicken poop for electriciy!"

Although we were always partial to sloath dung ourselves.

But sloath are scarce in the United States. Energy independence, you know.

But one question for Democrats: How long will it take before chicken poop can be used as a viable alternative energy source?

We remember that Dems claimed it would take 10 years to get oil out of ANWR, if Congress allowed drilling there. Of course, that was 10 years ago.

In other words: We would have oil now if they had allowed drilling in ANWR back in '02.

For some reason, Dems don't care about the "how long" question when they propose using chicken poop as means of creating electricity.

Until they can answer, let's just stick with old-fashioned fossil fuels.

Some of which should be obtained from ANWR.
