And why should they be happy? If farmers taught their kids a good work ethic, then they might grow up to become Republicans.

In case you missed it, the Obama administration (which we prefer to call "the Obama badministration" but then everyone thinks it's a typo, and oh, never mind) has reversed course on that whole "kids can't work on the family farm" regulation.

The idea was to keep kids under 16 from working on farm equipment, or in grain silos, feed lots, and stockyards.

Maybe they were afraid that boys who work in such environments would turn out like the Marlboro Man.

But we digress.

From the Post: "Reid Maki, coordinator of the Child Labor Coalition, said the Labor Department's sudden decision late Thursday to withdraw the proposed rules means more children will die in farm accidents that could have been prevented."

And because we allow cars to drive on the road, more kids will die next year in accidents that could have been prevented. See how that works?

This is nothing more than a borrowed page from the old Bill Clinton "let's do it for the children" playbook. The idea being that, once you bring children into the issue, people will cave to whatever protects children the most.

But not this time.

Let's put it this way. Obama was at odds with old lesbian look-alike Al Franken on this issue.

Al Fanken vs. Barack Obama?!?

Dude, where's my narrative?

This is excellent news for people who understand the dignity of work. That is to say, this is excellent news for conservatives.

That whole "let's do it for the children" thing failed in a political year.

And so did another burdensome regulation from the Obama Administration.
