Romney Campaign Slogan Is Racist Because It Tells The Truth About Obama April 20, 2012
And the incessant liberal cry of "racism" whenever they are losing an argument/election continues.
Writing for Mediaite, Tommy Christopher (often times a pretty fair writer, by the way) claims that Mitt Romney's campaign banner "evokes racial stereotypes".
The banner reads: "Obama Isn't Working".
Now, we don't think that anyone not already predisposed to racial analysis would read that sign and immediately come up with an image of the stereotypical "lazy black man". But liberals think that way.
Now, fair-minded people might read that sign and think, "Oh, he thinks Obama's policies aren't doing the country any good."
But where's the controversy in that?
Mr. Christopher writes: "...like it or not, it becomes a more loaded accusation when leveled at our first black president." So he's not only playing the race card, he's also playing the "first black president" card. Another one we've seen from liberals all too often over the past few years.
But progressives can only cry wolf for so long. And the sad fact is that the more they cry "racism" when there is none, the more likely people will become desensitized to the warning. And then real instances of racism will be ignored.
The reality is: They just end up shooting themselves in the foot with these repeated examples of false alarmism.
The 2010 elections and current polling indicates as much.
